Custom Xbox.
A custom-cased original Xbox from the early modding scene. Dremel-cut, re-cased in silver ribbed panels, lit with red cold-cathode tubes.
The early Xbox-mod community, Linux boxes and media centres.
No budget, no prior skills. A rotary tool and a plumber's soldering iron.

Fake it till you make it.
The greatest fake-it-till-you-make-it project. What began as fascination with the early Xbox-modding community and Team Xecuter became a rough-and-ready hardware mod, built with a Dremel, no budget and a plumbing soldering iron.
Silver, ribbed and glowing red. It still boots — everything works except the cold-cathode light on top. A source of pride despite its improvised beginnings.
